Top Wrestling MVPs 2020

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives.  Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites.  To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita

My Top Wrestling Commentators

Hi guys, When I started watching wrestling, there were so many things I admired about the business from the hard work each wrestler put in to the storylines but I never aspired to be a wrestler (yet) because I'm small, not flexible and just weak. However, as soon as I heard the commentators day in and day out calling the action, I knew that it's what I wanted to do some day if I could - maybe it stemmed from my childhood dream to be a TV presenter or just how much they add to the matches and product. I always seem to write about the wrestlers but the commentators are just as important to me, so here are my top 5 commentators in the business. 1. Kevin Kelly Ever since I started watching NJPW, Kevin Kelly became one of the things that made this product one of the best in the world in my opinion- I mean every time I turn on a NJ show, hearing Kevin Kelly on commentary just makes me smile from ear to ear. What's funny is that most commentators have one person that they&

NJPW World Tag League Preview

Image
Hi guys, It's only been a week and a half since the end of Jr Tag League and in less than a week, we've got the start of NJPW's World Tag League (for the heavyweights). It's on a lot bigger scale than the Jr's with more teams and a lot more match ups between all the teams but I am still here to give you guys a little preview of this tour which is also a great lead up to Wrestle Kingdom in January! Since there's 14 teams competing (but in one block not two), I'm going to look at all the teams by faction to make it easier, then look at matches I'm most looking forward to and finally my predictions for the league as well as the other tag matches throughout.  Like always, the tag league is really Taguchi Japan (Main Unit) heavy because of how many people are actually in this faction! We've got a really interesting team of Young Lions Yoshida and Shota Umino which I'm so excited about because they're normally bitter rivals in tag matc

Power Struggle/ Tag League Tour Review *Spoilers*

Hey guys, So another month's gone and another NJPW tour is under our belts, this time it was Power Struggle which was combined with the Super Jr Tag League (which I wrote about earlier). This tour has seen some amazing matches, some great storytelling and a Super Jr Tag League that really shows that New Japan has some of the best jrs in the world.   Before I talk about the league itself, we can't forget about all the other matches this tour which have been building up storylines for the next few months. We've had Tanahashi tagging with other Taguchi Japan members (hai) against the mix of Yujiro, Kota Ibushi and my boy Chase Owens (#AceCommentator) in the lead up to the Tokyo Dome. Even without Kenny, the lead up for this has been great with us seeing the pain in Ibushi's eyes for some reason or another, to the position of Chase and Yujiro within the BC Elite to Tanahashi's growing 'hatred' of Kenny Omega and everything he stands for in wrestling. We
