Hi guys, Well, hasn't it been a crazy few weeks for wrestling. The Coronavirus stopped a lot of Japanese shows, Goldberg became the WWE Universal Champion and then was challenged by Roman Reigns, Chris Brookes wants to make Antonio Honda bleed and DDT's MAO wore shorts for the first time in what seemed like forever. I also had my first attempt at ring announcing and didn't completely make a fool of myself. Yet, in the midst of all that, I thought it was about time to get another list out. If any of you listened to my podcast last week then this will make sense, if you didn't then make sure to go and listen to it now (or after you've read this post). Basically, I spoke about the whole concept of being a heel and whether it's plausible or not in this day and age. Hi guys, Sorry for being so quiet recently, it's been a crazy few weeks and sometimes a girl needs a bit of a break to watch a lot of wrestling without writing about it. However, I'm back with another New Japan tour review and, after the huge Osaka-Jo Hall New Beginning in Osaka tour, I thought it was a great way to end an amazing tour. This tour ran alongside the US part of the tour, but it was these shows broadcasted on New Japan World. Going into the 'Road to' shows, we had some amazing matches. Obviously, going into the tour, we were aware of a few of the big matches to look forward to at the end of the tour including Jay White v SANADA, Jon Moxley v Minoru Suzuki for the US title, Roppongi 3k v El Desperado and Kanemaru for the Jr tag titles, Hiromu Takahashi v Ryu Lee for the IWGP Jr title and last but not least Naito v Kenta for the IWGP Heavyweight and IC title. Hi guys, It's only been a few days since my last post, but I didn't want you waiting too long for the second part of my NJPW World Tag League Preview. Togi Makabe/ Tomoaki Honma Isn't it a nice surprise to see Tomoaki Honma back in tag league with his GBH partner Makabe. After being on the injured list for a long time, he wasn't in the right shape last year to compete so was replaced with Toa Henare as Makabe's partner. However, the teams back together and Honma is getting back to his old self. His kokeshi rate has improved amazingly and he's really put on some strong showings in tag matches, even if he mostly gets pinned. Hi guys, We're almost half way through the 2019 and with Summer approaching, that can only mean one thing: NJPW G1. For those of you who don't know what the G1 tournament is, let me try and explain it in a nutshell: There are 20 men in two blocks of ten who fight against each other over a series of matches. The winners of the block (the one with the most wins) will battle each other on the final night. Whoever wins, gets a briefcase entitling them to a main event title match at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom the next year. Unlike other briefcases, the winner of this tournament can lose his opportunity before the title match takes place. Block A Kazuchika Okada v Hiroshi Tanahashi I don't think crowds in NJPW will ever get tired of seeing the Rainmaker and the Ace going at it in a single's match.
