Top Wrestling MVPs 2020

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives.  Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites.  To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita...

Wrestling Isolation Guide

Hi guys,  Well, what a few weeks it has been and personally, I can say I've been full of anxiety probably not helped by the news which has meant that I'm basically no longer watching main television and getting upset at certain people around me. However, there's always one thing that has helped me whenever my anxiety has been high... okay two things, but the main thing is: Wrestling! Even though many of our favourite promotions have cancelled shows in some way or another, so many promotions have given us content to not only lift people's spirits but give us a bit of escapism. So I've decided to do a list of all the promotions doing this and some of the best content to have a watch! 1. DDT Pro Honestly, out of all the promotions I watch, DDT have been the most prepared and really have given subscribers of the DDT Universe some amazing stuff to watch. Although a lot of shows were cancelled, they still gave us some amazing content. To start with, they ...

100 Episodes of 205 Live

Image
Hi guys, It seems like only yesterday that I was trying to prove to the world that 205 Live was the best hour on television. Fast forward 100 episodes, and Triple H taking over the booking, and it seems like the world is finally realising what I always knew: the wrestlers on 205 Live put on some of the best matches in WWE. Maybe all it took was a change in management, a focus on the wrestling and a certain wrestler being released for this to happen. I mean 205 Live was always amazing but it maybe just needed a little push and some proper investment. So, today I'm going to be looking at the last 100 episodes and see the development of the show and what's making it so successful and best kept secret of WWE.  When the Cruiserweights started off on Raw, and eventually got their own show in 205 Live, there was high expectations for it to be amazing, especially considering the high standard of wrestling we'd seen in the Cruiserweight Classic. There was great promise an...

NXT UK: new breath or death of UK Indy Wrestling

Image
Hi guys, It's been almost 24 hours (give or take) since WWE announced the NXT UK division and it's dividing UK fans and I'm pretty much one of them. WWE was the reason I got into wrestling and let me find all of these different UK promotions that I've become so invested in like Progess, ICW, Defiant, Future Shock and all so many more.  We all know that WWE is trying to takeover the world and the UK is one of there biggest markets, so why wouldn't they want to create a more established brand after the initial UK division stopped the revival of World of Sport last year (or so the rumours say)? It's easy, WWE are smart and they know how popular wrestling is here in the UK so it seems natural to snap up some of the best talent and make use of them, the same talent which put the UK promotions on the map! They have success every time they come over here to put on shows and creating an exclusive brand is the best way to keep WWE dominance even without th...

A New 205 Live?

Image
Hi guys, The last few weeks have been monumental for the 205 Live roster and it seems as if the company are finally going to give these superstars a chance. With the announcement sof Drake Maverick (Rockstar Spud) as new 205 Live GM and Triple H taking over the brand, it feels as if we're at a turning point where people will actually see how much these wrestlers can do. After the whole debacle with losing our good ol' King Nev and the whole Enzo Amore scandal, the Cruiserweights needed a new and fresh start and I think it's working! I've always been a fan of 205 Live and I'm not alone because there's an entire fandom population who are devoted to this brand and see talent oozing out in buckets. Unfortunately, that's not been the case with WWE and many of the audiences. I mean it was bad enough that the boys were getting 'this is boring' chants or having people leave before the show (which is ironic because I only bought SD Live tickets...
