Top Wrestling MVPs 2020

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives.  Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites.  To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita

100 Episodes of 205 Live

Hi guys, It seems like only yesterday that I was trying to prove to the world that 205 Live was the best hour on television. Fast forward 100 episodes, and Triple H taking over the booking, and it seems like the world is finally realising what I always knew: the wrestlers on 205 Live put on some of the best matches in WWE. Maybe all it took was a change in management, a focus on the wrestling and a certain wrestler being released for this to happen. I mean 205 Live was always amazing but it maybe just needed a little push and some proper investment. So, today I'm going to be looking at the last 100 episodes and see the development of the show and what's making it so successful and best kept secret of WWE.  When the Cruiserweights started off on Raw, and eventually got their own show in 205 Live, there was high expectations for it to be amazing, especially considering the high standard of wrestling we'd seen in the Cruiserweight Classic. There was great promise an

Power Struggle - Jr Tag League Teams Explained

Hi guys, Another week, another NJPW post because tomorwas the start of Jr Tag League (Power Struggle). Even though I'm sad it doesn't seem as important as World Tag League (I mean it's not even classed as it's own product, not all of the shows are broadcasted live and have you seen the banner), I still  want to look specifically at all the teams and who might be the front runners instead of the whole tour card. Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado - Suzuki Gun Even though these two are Jr Tag Team Champions, they've not been the best of champs and we haven't really seen the belts elevated like it was on the Bucks. I know that they're major heels and winning by sneaky tactics is the go to, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to put on solid matches and defend the title more than once every few months. But, I think this tournament is the best way to show the fans that they are great wrestlers and are champs for a reason. The

Fighting Spirit Unleashed/ King of Pro-Wrestling *spoilers*

Hi guys, NJPW has been on a role since it's break from the G1 so this week's post is a hybrid of two NJPW show reviews. Because NJPW Fighting Spirit Uncleashed on 30th Sept (US time) was asamazing as was Monday's King of Pro-Wrestling, I thought I'd combine the two (also I didn't have much time the week of FSU). The lead up Fighting Spirit Unleashed wasn't too in your face during the Destruction tour but, as soon as the card was released, we had some crackers of matches. I've always loved the tag matches that start the NJPW shows and these were no different! I also can't forget the Tanahashi/Kushida v Jay/ Gedo match which was always going to be a favourite for me just because of the Wrestle Kingdom briefcase implications and of course, Jay White is probably my favourite wrestler at the moment. It was brutal, sneaky but with a perfect amount of pure wrestling. Of course Jay won with sneaky tactics but he's a heel so Gedo hitting Tana with

So, without further ado, here's the last of the factions for you!' Chaos Kazuchika Okada - Former champion with red hair who lost the plot but has cool balloons  Jay White - Your friendly-ish neighbourhood knife pervert who hates everyone but loves dogs Baretta - Tall bean who doesn't go anywhere without his best friend Gedo - If you hear him speaking English, it's normally because he's swearing Hirooki Goto - He's so chilled but, when he's angry, he's a Samurai who can beat yo' ass Toru Yan
