Top Wrestling MVPs 2020

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives.  Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites.  To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita...

My Top 5 Heels

Image
Hi guys, Well, hasn't it been a crazy few weeks for wrestling. The Coronavirus stopped a lot of Japanese shows, Goldberg became the WWE Universal Champion and then was challenged by Roman Reigns, Chris Brookes wants to make Antonio Honda bleed and DDT's MAO wore shorts for the first time in what seemed like forever. I also had my first attempt at ring announcing and didn't completely make a fool of myself. Yet, in the midst of all that, I thought it was about time to get another list out. If any of you listened to my podcast last week then this will make sense, if you didn't then make sure to go and listen to it now (or after you've read this post). Basically, I spoke about the whole concept of being a heel and whether it's plausible or not in this day and age. My conclusion was pretty inconclusive but I think that wrestling isn't black or white. However, despite that, heels are a must in wrestling and I thought I'd have a look and see who my to...

My Smackdown Live Experience - 7/11/17

Image
Hiya guys, Well, it's been a long time since I've written and what a month its been: walkouts, releases and Kurt Angle wrestling again! What a month in WWE Wrestling! Well, I'm back with an exciting post and the title is pretty obvious, right? April 2016 was the first time I went to a WWE Live Event (I mean I didn't even watch it back then but went for my sister), fast forward a year and a half and, for my 21st birthday present, I got aisle tickets for Smackdown Live and my personal favourite - 205 Live. The night was absolutely amazing but my only issue was, surprisingly 205 Live... I think I'll address those issues before getting back to all the positives (which there were a lot more) I purposefully bought SD Live tickets to get to see my 205 Live babes like TJP, Drew Gulak, Tony Nese and Mustafa Ali. I was over the moon when I found out that some of the wrestlers from the UK championship was going to be there but they didn't tell me that thi...

How to Help the Cruiserweight Division

Image
Hey guys, 205 Live and the Cruiserweight division has been up and running for pretty much a solid year and something that started with loads of momentum. Unfortunately, it's not stayed and it's only a fare few hardcore CW fans (like me) who seem to be fully invested and interested in this amazing division. I don't think it's anything to do with the superstars themselves that go out, night after night, and before to the best of their ability because they are some of the best competitors out there. It's not there fault that there's a lack of a connection between them and the fans, it's WWE's and they need to sort it! But how? 1. Better character development We have some great characters in this division from Gentleman Jack and the Wizard of Odd Brian Kendrick whose persona just leaks out. But what about those stars who haven't decided on a niche? Well WWE have already ruined a good lot of 205 Live stars with their character development or...

Why Southpaw Regional Wrestling is the best!

Image
Whats up guys, The last few months of WWE Raw and Smackdown have had more ups and downs than a rollercoaster at Disney World. Yet, they decide to bring out something that is pretty much just spoofing the wrestling business and is an utter and complete joke and it's the best content they've released in years. How is it that something that was meant to be a one off thing with four episodes have come back for another series. Simple: It was everything that WWE shows aren't and people loved it for so many reasons! 1. It used the wider roster in bizzare ways When will you ever see the likes of The Ascension being used in nearly every single episode in a charismatic way. Southpaw Regional Wrestling has used superstars from Smackdown, Raw and even 205 Live (TJP represent) and it's letting those wrestlers who don't get much screen time shine. It shows us that Viktor, Konnor and Jason Jordan have the ability to be funny and have a personality, it shows the acting...
