My name is Sonal and I love to talk, blog and watch a whole lot of wrestling so a wrestling blog was the only obvious thing to do! Obsessed with wrestling from across the world with a soft spot for Puroresu, cruiserweights and heels. I can probably be found watching more wrestling than actually sleeping and blogging about pretty much every week.

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives. Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites. To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita...

Hi guys,
It seems like ages since I've been posting constantly because, as I keep repeating to people, university has a way of getting in the way of fun . However, it's not managed to stop be enjoying wrestling and, over the last few weeks, I've managed to broaden my wrestling mind and become invested in NJPW. This which has added another promotion for me to try and keep on top of. With that in mind, I thought it was time to update my favourite wrestlers and make it harder to make the list by combining all of the promotions together. Most are pretty cliche, but that's what happens when certain superstars reach the top of their game - they become everyone's favourite superstars!
1. Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay is a name that will probably always be on this list because it seems as if Ospreay finds new ways to amaze me every time I see him wrestle. Like I can't tell you one bad match he's had because there aren't any - he can pull a good match out of everyone he's in the ring with from high flying stars to grapplers. For me, my favourite wrestlers are always the agile and high flying superstars who are creative and fearless when it comes to putting on a show. Will Ospreay epitomises this and I sometimes feel myself holding my breath when he's standing comfortably on the top rope, but it doesn't mean that he's a one trick pony. Ospreay has great ground work and can just make the crowd feel something from his selling to the pure emotion he has in the ring, like I find myself hurting inside when I hear him screaming in pain. Heel or face, Will Ospreay is THE wrestler for me and, if he takes care of himself, he's only going to carry on this dominance. #OspreayisBae
2. Jay White
To be honest, until I started watching New Japan, I'd never heard of Jay White. Yet, as soon as I started watching it, Jay was one of the wrestlers that really stood out for me, and I think it was probably partly due to his 'Switchblade' persona. It's so dark and mysterious that I automatically became intrigued and drawn into his character that's dark and sinister. But, as I started looking through his matches, I learnt that, even as normal Jay White, he's just an all around amazing wrestler with a beautiful mix of styles and amazing at cutting promos. The highlights for me include the matches with fellow New Japan (and ex-bff) David Finlay. These matches are some of the best story telling I've ever seen and even include the ones from the time that they were two young boys. Also, his match with Will Ospreay in ROH was one of those bouts that is stuck in my mind. It really showed both stars off in the best light and it might even be one of my all time favourite matches I've ever watched. I feel like I could write a whole essay but, long story short, Jay White has become one of my favourite ever wrestlers because he is just so entertaining and captivating to watch.
3. Seth Rollins
There's really only one word to describe Seth Freakin Rollins - AMAZING! For me, over the last year and a bit, Rollins has been moving up my list of best wrestlers and is slowly getting back to the strength he had as a heel! Who knew that someone who generated so much heat a few years ago could probably be one of the biggest babyfaces of the company, as shown by the crowd's reactions to his title win's. As well as being emotional, passionate and an amazing story-teller, his actual wrestling talent is second to none and probably one of the best in the company. Like, Jay White, Rollins perfectly combines high flying and technical prowess perfectly and can make any match fast paced, exciting and high risk. Who'd have thought, after my love for Dean Ambrose, Rollins would become my favourite member of the SHIELD (however, an Ambrose return may change this - but not in wrestling ability). Monday night really is Monday Night Rollins!
4. Kenny Omega
Yes, I know - cliche much? However, I think I can now wholheartedly agree when people call him one of the best in the world. I've been watching Being The Elite for a fair few months but never really looked into the actual wrestling of Kenny! I watched an odd few like his one with Jericho and a few from PWG, but the last few weeks have really given me time to look more into his other matches and heel promo work in NJPW. Kenny Omega is the perfect definition of an all around amazing superstar and I don't think there's anything he can't do: he's a dastardly heel, a lovable and goofy babyface and a bloody amazing wrestler. I know there's a lot of criticism of his leadership of the Bullet Club (compared to Finn Balor and AJ Styles) but, along with the Bucks, Kenny has changed the face of professional wrestling and made it bigger than it ever could - he's taken the Bullet Club and NJPW worldwide! I went into watching Omega's matches thinking it was another over-hyped wrestler, but boy was I wrong - Kenny is a true star in every way!
5. The Young Bucks
Another popular pick, but the Bucks are another two wrestlers who I watched on BTE but never got into their actual matches until I started watching New Japan *crazy I know*. I have always loved tag team wrestling, from The Usos to Edge and Christian, but Nick and Matt Jackson are something so fresh and combine all the traits of all the best tag teams from history! The high risk moves and charisma that both guys ooze just make every single match that they're in a hundred times better, even if they're just on the side supporting Kenny. For me, Nick Jackson is my favourite Buck. Some of the stuff that guy does blows my mind, from 450 splashes to moonsaults - like this guy is frickin' fearless. These moves, combined with the amazing tandem offence from the two, make The Young Bucks one of the most exciting tag teams in the world and have really changed the world of wrestling! Also, Being The Elite is one of the best things on the internet at the moment and no one can tell me otherwise!
6. Tony Nese
205 Live is always my favourite part of the WWE week and it seems as if I could easily put anyone off this roster on this last and it will continue to change. However, for now, Tony Nese has really been impressing me and I always look forward to his matches and promo's. I don't know if they're trying make him into a babyface against Gulak, but he just oozes superstar from his physique (I mean them 8 abs really something), to the way he holds himself in the ring. He combines the high flying style of the Cruiserweights with the hard hitting moves of the Heavyweights. He's also just a great character, from that desire to prove his worth to the comedy we got to see in the Greatest Royal Rumble with the New Day - Tony can just do it all! 'Move like a Cruiserweight, Hit like a Heavyweight' is definitely the best way to describe Tony Nese and I see so much potential!
Also, I know I've missed out loads from the previous list but here are some honourable mentions who are still amazing but just couldn't reach these guys: TJP, Mustafa Ali, Drew Gulak, Cedric Alexander, Dalton Castle, Joe Hendry, Hangman Page, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz.
This list really shows that this is one of the best times to be a wrestling fan with the amount of variety and content around!

Hi guys, For me, New Japan Pro Wrestling has to be one, if not, the best company in the world for giving us amazing wrestling content. With the introduction of their streaming site NJPW World, more worldwide shows and English commentary (from the AMAZING Kevin Kelly) on most of their shows, it’s becoming a massive rival for other massive companies. But, when I started watching it a while back, the whole format was really confusing because it was so different from what I was used too. So, in the lead up to Wrestle Kingdom (which is the biggest show/s of the NJ calendar year), here’s a beginner’s guide to New Japan Pro Wrestling (Shin Nihon Puroresu) for anyone who wants to watch NJPW but has no idea where to start. History New Japan Pro Wrestling was founded in 1972 by wrestling legend Antonio Inoki after he left the Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance promotion. Inoki put himself as the star of the company and drew on the experiences of foreign wrestlers (Gaijin’s) like the Bri...
Hi guys, I think I've already made it clear how excited I am for this year's Best of Super Jr tournament. However, in the midst of my excitement, I forgot all about the fact that it was a combined tour with World Tag League, probably because we didn't hear any announcements about the line-up - until now! Just like the BoSJ, this tournament is going to in a single block format and is full of some of your favourite tag teams in Japan. Without further ado, here is my preview of the 2020 World Tag League! FinJuice (Juice Robinson and David Finlay) Will New Japan fans be treated to another round of Happy Beers from last year's World Tag League winners? Well, I'm just happy to see them both teaming together again in Japan. David Finlay and Juice Robinson are the epitome of what a babyface is and just radiate this positive energy despite all the obstacles in front of them. Since they started teaming together, they've both had a career rejuvenation with their best frien...
