Top Wrestling MVPs 2020

Hi guys, How crazy has 2020 has been? With everything going on in the world, it seems as if 2021 couldn't come any sooner. However, even with all of this negativity, I think it's vital to try and find some positives.  Despite conditions making it hard for the wrestling industry, many companies have thrived during the pandemic. In particular, some wrestlers have managed to make the best out of a bad situation and continue trying to put on shows for fans whether in person or through streaming sites.  To mark the end of another year, I'm back with my annual wrestling MVP list of the wrestlers who have stood out this year. Just a quick note, most of the stuff I've watched this year is Japanese wrestling (NJPW, DDT and TJPW)! Yuka Sakazaki 2020 has been a great year for in the sense that I've had the time to fully get into Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. For me, it's something I regret not doing earlier because it is full of some amazing wrestlers from Miu, Miyu Yamashita

Unofficial Guide to DDT Pro Wrestling

A few years ago, I wrote my first unofficial guide where I basically looked at the entire New Japan roster and tried to summarise them in one sentence (http://wrestling-chatter.blogspot.com/2018/09/the-unofficial-guide-to-njpw-wrestlers.html). Of course, it wasn't serious but people seemed to like it. So, I decided that I would try and do it with DDT Pro-Wrestling which is a promotion I've been watching for about a year and is the epitome of not serious!

Like always, this is not meant to be serious in any way and it's just meant to be light-hearted so hopefully, nobody will get offended. Also, because of the size of the entire Wrestle Universe umbrella (Tokyo Joshi, Ganbare, Basara, NOAH), this post is just looking at the wrestlers who mainly complete in the DDT promotion.

Konosuke Takeshita - The cool kid in school who everyone wants to be friends with
Akito -  Cute, adorable and the new DDT Boyz Brain
Shunma Katsumata - Small boy who likes playing with Lego
Yuki Iino - He likes to Haka... sometimes too much 

Disaster Box

Harashima - The really cool dad with really cool, shiny pants
Naomichi Marafuji - I mean he's just a really kick ass legend
Toru Owashi - He's still one of the cool kids
Kazuki Hirata - Not the most popular kid but enjoys dancing in flashing glasses
Yuki Ueno - Disney Prince disguised as a wrestler
Naomi Yoshimura - Looks like a big fluff bundle of joy but could kill you

Daisuke Sasaki - Emo dad who is a bad influence on his children
Soma Takao - Seems quiet af but is actually judging everyone around him 
Tetsuya Endo - Shy boy who can either kill you with his abs or cuteness
Mad Paulie - Looks scary but is really a soft bundle of joy in facepaint
Nobuhiro Shimatani - Somebody has given this guy too many energy drinks
Cima - Is there anything this guy can't do?
T-Hawk - Somebody wants to challenge Endo to an abs off
El Lindaman - Almost as hyper as Nobu and equally smol

Sanshiro Takagi - Do you remember that match he had with Minoru Suzuki 
Danshoku Dieno - You might want to stay away from this one
Shinya Aoki - He kicks really hard with a very Honma-esque voice
Antonio Honda - He is the fashion King of DDT
Super Sasadango Machine - He doesn't age in any way

Keigo Nakamura - Bald and proud
Tomomitsu Matsunaga – Looks like he would give really nice hugs

Hopefully, you guys enjoyed this Unofficial guide and, if you do watch DDT, you understand where I come from with the descriptions. The thing I love about this roster is how diverse and different each wrestler is and there isn't one who doesn't make their mark in the matches.

Introduction to NJPW

Hi guys, For me, New Japan Pro Wrestling has to be one, if not, the best company in the world for giving us amazing wrestling content. With the introduction of their streaming site NJPW World, more worldwide shows and English commentary (from the AMAZING Kevin Kelly) on most of their shows, it’s becoming a massive rival for other massive companies.
